PWP Corner
Highline’s Parents With Purpose (PWP) plays many important roles in our school. One fundamental role is helping to raise over $20,000.00 each year to supplement the costs of running our school and covering budget shortfalls. These fund-raising efforts are vital to maintaining and enhancing the many diverse programs offered at Highline Academy. Fundraising takes our whole community if it is to be successful. Here are our primary fund raisers we have scheduled for this year:
- Coupon book sale
- Sally Foster gift wrap sale
- Cookie dough Sale
- Women’s Bean Project
- King Soopers certificates
- Chico bags
In addition to fundraising, the PWP sponsors many community events throughout the year. These events are a way to help build a sense of community in the school and an opportunity to have some fun. However, we cannot run these events without volunteers. If you chair an event, that will fulfill your volunteer commitment for the year, and most of the work can be done on your own time. Here is the schedule of events for the this year:
- Movie Nights (Friday, September 11 and Wednesday, February 24)
- Annual Lobster Bake dinner and sale (Saturday, October 3)
- Fall Festival (Friday, October 23)
- Cultural Fair (Friday, November 20)
- Middle School Dances (Friday, October 16 and Friday, January 15)
- The 2010 Spring Silent Auction (Saturday, March 13)
- Lower School Dance (Friday, March 19)
- Carnival (Friday, May 14)
- Small business expo (TBD)
