How long have you been teaching?
This is my second year of full-time teaching, but I started teaching enrichment Spanish classes in high school, student taught in bilingual schools, and taught 1st grade last year
What makes HA special to you?
I love the community feel of Highline and believe that we truly are a team. I also love that Spanish learning is a priority from an early age here at Highline.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe students learn foreign languages best when they use all 5 senses to learn them. Students should not only read, write, speak, and understand the language but should apply it to their own lives and experience the culture as well.
Favorite Student Story
Last year I was able to take my students to the museum after we had studied Egypt. Although the entire museum was enthralling to them, I loved watching their learning come to life as they saw mummies and other Egyptian artifacts for the first time. Their excitement and real understanding reminded me of why I love being a teacher.
