Highline Academy is a great place to teach because the staff is so incredibly supportive and committed to the success of each and every child. I’m consistently amazed by the overwhelming talent and experience of this team!
Teaching Philosophy
I’ve been told that to lead, we must first learn to follow. It follows then that to become great educators, we must first be great learners. My endeavor in teaching is to build great learners by demonstrating that role for my students. Someone who is open to the possibility of learning is both willing to be challenged and inspired to become greater. Learning isn’t always easy, yet it’s the only way in which we grow.

Favorite Student Story
I had a student in Pre Algebra who began the year by explaining to me that she has a tough time in math and wasn’t ready for my class. She also struggled with a learning disorder which she overcame daily and never used as a crutch. In the beginning of the year, she asked questions to which she already knew the answers from lack of confidence. By the end of the year, she was leading class lessons, aiding her peers, and earning among the highest grades in my class!
